logon Urban Regeneration Practice

The theme forum on the era of inventory and incremental value was held on December 18, 2015 in Shanghai Glass Museum & G+Park was successfully held. Xia Yu, deputy head of Baoshan District, Shanghai, attended the opening ceremony and delivered an opening speech. Frank Krueger (Ke Funan), founder, partner architect, and creative director of logon Roang Architectural Design Consulting Co., Ltd., and Peng Lixiao, director of China Construction Center (CBC), respectively delivered opening speeches and expressed gratitude to the participants for coming.
This forum was hosted by Yao Jing, the founder & planner of Urban Renaissance 2050, Zhao Yanjing, professor of Xiamen University, former director of Xiamen Planning Bureau, and director of Xiamen City Planning Committee, Li Zhenyu, dean of School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Tongji University, and professor of Shanghai Jiaotong University , Wang Lin, former Director of Style Management Division of Shanghai Municipal Planning and Land Resources Administration, Associate Professor of School of Architecture of Tsinghua University, Liu Boying, Chief Designer of Beijing Huaqing Andi Architectural Design Office Co., Ltd., Chief Strategy Officer of Logon Architectural Design Consulting Co., Ltd. Official and sociologist Pascal Hartmann, General Manager Quan Jianbiao of Xi’an Huaqing Creative Industry Development Co., Ltd. and other important guests participated in the speech. They have the themes of "how to do stock urban renewal", "how to increase the benefits brought by cautious renovation and moderate renewal design", and "the thinking change and practice path of developers and operators under stock planning". The current and future development trends of urban renewal were analyzed, and discussions were centered on the regeneration, renewal and creation of incremental value of urban stock resources (old industrial areas, old buildings, etc.). Wang Fang and Frank Krueger, the founders of logon Architectural Design Consulting Co., Ltd., shared the renovation process of the Shanghai Museum of Glass at the theme forum, from the initial renovation of the small space to the continuous renovation of the entire area. Through the successful experience of this case, it is stated that in the practice of urban rejuvenation, there will be no greater gains if you don't take risks-"Do not enter the tiger's den, how can you get a tiger."
During these 10 years, logon has been actively committed to the exploration and design practice in the field of urban space regeneration and renewal. Organized by the Shanghai Museum of Glass, WhyWhyArt, and logon Roan, the theme of the "Babel Me" art exhibition is the change and regeneration of the city, which explores how the change and regeneration of the city affect society at multiple levels, and how it affects different classes, fields, communities and individuals. For the first time, logon made its debut at the Babel Me Art Exhibition with the artistic concept brand logARTon. It exhibited the works of "24 Hours of Sunshine", conveying the changes brought about by the urban renewal itself, the continuous destruction and reconstruction of buildings and communities, and them the impact of the relationship between thinking and personal context and the whole community formation. This art exhibition lasts for 3 months and presents 19 artists from home and abroad who use mixed media to install works of art and use them to convey their perspectives.
This event attracted a large number of industry and mass media competing reports, including: Xinhua News Agency, Sohu Focus, China Business News, Tencent Real Estate, Phoenix Net, NetEase, China Daily-Real Estate China, Shanghai Hotline, Construction Times, etc. The forum attracted nearly 300 relevant government leaders, developers, experts and scholars, and people from all walks of life to gather together to share opinions, exchange experiences, and jointly explore the ice-breaking journey of urban regeneration.
